Product 101

This is always my favorite kind of class.  
I guess that I am a 'nuts and bolts' kind of person and I find this fascinating.  It is the kind of back scenes look that makes our product presentation fun.  Take a look with me and let me know what you think in the form of a comment, please.


Product 101
Different styles of baskets require different skill sets.
55-65 minutes for our signature weave (just one step down from masters studio); 3 medium market baskets can be made in that time frame
WI (wrought iron) handles are the same quality as WI
Logo leather made in Indiana, USA!
Our maple is stained in house .

From David Troyer, pottery production manager, in supply chain pottery. Flameware - we are proud of it!  Ceramic can be used differently than other cookware.
We are the only company with vitrified ceramic cookware in 7 colors.
All natural.
Flame ware has 1 different ingredient than WT pottery.
The clay glazes well and is resistance to thermal shock.
Difficult to produce in color, but we got it there.
Use Trivets for stacking.
Open flame product is offered by other companies, but not vitrified.  Huge advantage over other products.
Cleaning products - barkeepers friend, magic eraser.
Stainless steel handles on the utensils.
Heat resistant.
Seasoning adds a fill to help stain resistant characteristic.  This standard procedure is to enhance and for longevity.

Brian Tickner - former weaver - quality.  He is the voice for me, the customer   
and inspects product as it arrives.  There are 3 types of protectors.

  • Plastics - injection mold protectors
  • Thermoform is a container in its own right, but with polyethylene, heat, & vacuum, it becomes a product to protect a basket.
  • Injection - pellets to form flashing (scratches around edges).
All our protectors are made in the USA!

Veranda products expanding living to outdoors. They have a steel frame with polyethylene weaves.
 2 separate coats on WI.   First ecoat (
Elctrolysis), then powder coat is baked on for durable finish.
Polyethylene resists fading and becoming brittle from UV rays.
Sized from plant sizes.  No protector needed.

WT - durable vitrified.  Looking at all our pottery being vitrified.
Stay put mixing bowls feature functionality.  Silicone piece is dishwasher and microwave safe.

WI - value - collar w/ set screw.  No tools needed.  Bolts on top shelf.
Bronze Leaf, hammered metal will be phased out to provide Consistency on all parts and pieces.  The maple leaf will stay.  WI stock tubing is narrow to function well.  Weave is signature.  Island is competitive price point, a beautiful piece of furniture.

WT (woven traditions) - Natures Tadition leaving the line.  We are moving toward all vitrified.

Collectors Club - special group who love Longaberger.  
ALL CC products are 100% made in USA.
Exclusive baskets no one else can buy.  Miniatures coming again next year.

Staci, from fabrics, has 9 years w/ TLC.  We purchase from reputable factories, with trained workers, who are well compensated, and offer our customer a good price point. 
Throw and scarf - 50/50 acrylic wool blend. Cheap, but warm.  Knots all hand tied.  Not on fashion trend, but beautiful.
Sisters stay cool totoe is seamless, weak proof, with no plastic handles.  Stay 'cool', not 'warm'.  Do not place HOT items inside.
Woven collection.  All a fashion forward trend with Longaberger brand on side.  It is considered a medium priced leather line.
Diaper Bag - wear tested with twins.  Stroller attachments with changing pad.  Develop more family friendly projects.  Testing many different product .  Wash out with dawn.  Cross functional.  Carries water bottles and tennis balls, as well.

Food integration - 100% made in USA.  2-3 weeks order time for the company.  More foods?  Yes, looking at more foods.
 Candles made in USA.  Food grade safe paraffin.  Burns true to time. Cotton wicks.

Woodcrafts projects - creating a good cooking brand with the cutting boards, pizza board and bread board.

What is the max temp for Flameware?  1100 degrees farenheight, broiler is fine.
Is it safe to burn candle on Fill-it glass w/o tray?  Will not burn well.

Kcups?  Possible.
