PERK YOUR BUSINESS!

I know you!  I know that you love Longaberger, our quality products, the friendship of your customers and other consultants, the rewards of incentives, the discount and the extra money!  But, the most common problem among consultants is:

How can I find the time to promote my Longaberger business?
One of the most common complaints from consultants is that I just don't have the time to work my business.  So, what can you do to find the time?  This will be a quick exercise in time management.  You will need a timer (10 minutes, total, I promise), blank sheet of paper and a writing utensil (aka pen or pencil).  We all have 24 hours in a day - 8 for sleeping, 8 for working and 8 for fun.  Most of you have a full time job (8 hours), sleep and rest (8 hours) and  another 8 hours.  What do you do with the other 8 hours?  Don't do this if you really don't want to know.
  • Set a timer for 5 minutes
  • Quickly, write down everything you do in your normal day, include personal hygiene, computer, tv & telephone time - yes, include it all
  • Stop when the timer dings
  • Go through the list & categorize each item with P E R K:
Postpone - put it off
Eliminate - just say no
Reduce - determine to spend less time here
Keep - this is a neccessity

(Don't think about this too much, just go with your initial, gut feeling - just do it.)

Highlight the Ks!
Place the Rs on a watch list!
Now, mark through the E's- get rid of it, let it go.
Place the Ps in an 'after I have completed __'.

Personally, I reward my self with the fun things that I want to do after completing the not-so-fun things that I must do.

I really hope that this helps you with your time management and allows you more time to do what you love to do with Longaberger and make money doing it!
Turn your passion into income!

Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,

And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Our March Get-Together

Thank you for coming
to our get-together this evening!
Kim and Lynzee (Kim's sweet daughter) and
Terri and Judy (Terri's friend and customer)
had split pea soup, Irish soda bread
and green m&m cookies for supper
with me and Mickey.
There was fun table talk and we discovered
what a small world we live in.
Kim and Judy actually knew many of the same people.
I love it when we meet new Longaberger friends
and discover so much in common!
Judy is hooked on Longaberger baskets!
Good job, Terri!
Congratulations on educating and encouraging
a good customer.
After this evening, she wants pottery
and is planning to hostess her first home show.
I see future consultant potential!
Don't you love Longaberger lovers?
Congratulations, Vanna.. uh.. I mean Terri!
Enjoy your PINK MEASURING CUP!
Isn't Lynzee adorable?
Hmmm... in about eight years,
we will put a consultant contract in her hands.
She is just a few months younger than Jack,
our oldest grandson.
Oh Lynzee, I could make such big plans for you!
We all had a fun evening together!

The conference call didn't go quite as well.
Where were you all?
I missed you.

If you need a fun Irish recipe
for Saint Patricks Day,
this one is for you...

Irish Soda Bread
This bread is popular throughout Ireland. Because it is easily and quickly made it is often baked fresh for tea or even breakfast. At home we used to call the loaf made with white flour soda bread, while that made with whole meal was wheaten bread. In other parts of the country wheaten bread is referred to as brown soda or, confusingly, soda bread!
1lb/ 1/2kg/ 4 cups plain flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp sugar (optional)
1pt/ 1/2 lr/ 2 cups buttermilk or sour milk
Sieve the dry ingredients into a large bowl. Scoop up handfuls and allow to drop back into the bowl to aerate the mixture. Add enough buttermilk to make a soft dough. Now work quickly as the buttermilk and soda are already reacting. Knead the dough lightly - too much handling will toughen it, while too little means it won't rise properly.
Form a round loaf about as thick as your fist. Place it on a lightly-floured baking sheet and cut a cross in the top with a floured knife. Put at once to bake near the top of a pre-heated oven, gas mark 8, 450°F, 230°C, for 30-45 minutes. When baked, the loaf will sound hollow when rapped on the bottom with your knuckles. Wrap immediately in a clean tea-towel to stop the crust hardening too much.

Believe in Longaberger

from Anita Rector who was hired by Dave Longaberger and is still with TLC:
Believe...
...in your product = sales so get your passion back, make a play date, have fun
...in yourself = bookings, good customer service offering 3 prices (customer, hostess, consultant) with no bargain left behind
...in your company = recruiting others to love our products, weavers, and Tami (who is the catalyst for expanding our product line). She believes in you and your ability.

When you have passion, your light shines brightly!
Just get out and do it!
"Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do."
-Goethe
(David Allen, Getting Things Done)

And the winner is...

Terri Younger!  Terri will receive this Pink Measuring Cup!  I hope that you enjoy it and love it as much as I love mine.  Thank you, all followers!
